Since the competition’s creation in 1924, Joseph Pajot and Claude Pimpard, luthiers in Jenzat, have been recognized as among the “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France.” Several artisan luthiers had already garnered multiple awards in the 19th century: gold, silver, and bronze medals at major exhibitions. Excellence continues in the 21st century with a new MOF (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and a world-renowned living heritage.
